Cubs Sixer’s Forum

24 November 2017
January 14, 2018 @ 10:30 am – 4:00 pm
Mafeking Hall

As agreed at the last District Cub Leaders Meeting, we are holding a District Cub Forum at Mafekin Hall, Seddridge Lane, Ram Hill, [please insert postcode], this Sunday 14 January 2018. It will start at 10.30am, and finish at 4.00pm. The event is free, and all that the Cubs will need to bring is a pair of outdoor boots (Welly boots), waterproofs, hat and gloves (all of which need to be named and in a bag). This event has been on the District Website for some time and has been promoted via your GSL’s. This email is to obtain numbers of Cubs attending.

We need to know from you the names, any dietary requirements (vegetarian, Gluton free etc.) We need this information by Friday 7.00pm, and emailed to

The event is open to all sixers, and within reason, to seconds or other older Cub who can make a contribution to the event – please limit number of Cubs from any one pack to a maximum of five please.

What are we doing: we are going to support your Cubs in two main areas – navigation and cooking. They are also going to do a forum based around what they would like to see from the district, and focusing on camping and the district jamboree event. The navigation will at times be done outside, with some elements indoors.

We will issue feedback from the forum at the next district Cub Leaders Meeting; to be on the 17 January 2018, 7.30pm at 2nd Frampton Scout Hut; The Parks, School Road, Frampton Cotterell.

As a leader, can I stay and help – yes you can, but only one leader per pack, and this is only to support the district leaders.

So we do not have to have a pack leader present – correct – we will have sufficient district leaders to cover ratios (based on anticipated numbers).

Parking, drop off and pick up – please be patient – if the Car Park at Mafekin is full parents will be asked to use the Cricket Clubs parking and walk up.

What about lunch, snacks and drinks – these are being provided by the district, the Cubs will be preparing their own lunches.
