If anyone is driving a minibus for scouting purposes within groups or units in our District then as a member organisation of the MiDAS Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme we require all minibus drivers to hold a current MiDAS Driver Certificate. The MiDAS training page on the district website (https://cotswoldedgescouts.org.uk/midas-training-section-19-minibus-permits/) outlines the MiDAS training scheme run within our district.
The next MiDAS Full Theory Session for those new to the MiDAS scheme is being held on 23rd February 2019 at our District HQ, Mafeking Hall from 09:30 to 12:30. This is the last opportunity to take this course free of charge as we start charging from the beginning of the next financial year. The driving element will be arranged individually with the participants but it may be possible to do it during the afternoon of the same day (there is a charge for borrowing a minibus of approx. £18). If you are interested in attending please e-mail MiDAS@CotswoldEdgeScouts.org.uk or fill in the form on the MiDAS training page on the district website.
For those whose MiDAS certificate has recently expired or about to expire and you wish to renew before charging starts, refresher training can be arranged on an individual basis.
